Every Child Matters

Choosing the right nursery for your child is one of the most important decisions you make as a parent. There are many attributes to our nursery which makes us the right place to leave your child to both be safe but also to develop.

We work to make the time your child spends at our nursery to be both fun and stimulating to help them as they approach school age.

We provide a warm and welcoming environment with effective supervision from skilled and trained staff.  All our toys are inspected and cleaned regularly and children have access to choose toys and equipment suitable for their needs.

You have peace of mind that Risk Assessments are continually completed for all areas and we have designated areas for children to rest.  We adhere to the Safeguarding Policy and promote the welfare of our children.

We maintain a clean and hygienic environment and teach children about personal hygiene.  They have individual Wash Cloths and cups, and have constant access to drinking water.

We provide and plan nutritious snacks and meals and children have opportunities for exercise throughout the day.

Staff are trained to demonstrate excellent hygiene standards – certificates in Food Preparation and are trained in First Aid.

All documentation maintained including medical Forms and accident Forms.

We plan experiences that link to children’s individual learning and development needs and then the next steps are identified for each child and incorporated into daily plans ensuring children are fully stimulated by the activities offered.

A key person is allocated to each child to ensure consistency and familiarity working in partnership with parents/carers.

Children's Profiles of records & achievements are maintained and staff observe children through their work/play, taking photographs for parents, so they do not miss out on achievements and milestones.  We acknowledge that children are active learners and provide opportunities for them to learn and develop: Eg sand/water/sensory materials

We encourage children to choose, initiate and develop their own activities.

Children are encouraged to be involved in decision making and planning of activities, meals, outings etc.  They are encourage to engage in activities which enable them to express their developing awareness of their own culture and beliefs and to be individuals and feel good about themselves.

Staff communicate with children/carers – through signing and providing information in their home language.   Staff encourage children to choose their own resources and props to enhance their play without being bias or gender stereotype

Equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practices are demonstrated ensuring every child is included.
